Chronic liver and kidney diseases, hepatorenal syndrome,
transplantation across blood group ABO barriers, cholangiocarcinoma,
non-alcoholic steatohepatitus, transplantation tolerance.
Student Participation:
Learn and assist in assays related to genomic analysis,
immunohistochemistry, RT-PCR. Learn and assist in animal surgery. Care
and maintain animals and appropriate records. Help with
computers/database management.
Background Needed:
Interest in surgery, immunology, and diseases and traeted by organ
transplantion, computer.database management, completetion or enrollment
in introductory courses (including lab) of biology, chemistry,
biochemistry or equivalent. Genetics course work a plus.
Outside Majors: Biology, biochemistry, microbiology, chemistry, immunology.
