General Research Interest: Study of molybdenum-containing
DMSO reductase, used as a model for molybdenum cofactor of
deficiency disease; study of iron-containing nitric oxide
synthase, a key enzyme in mammalian defense against infection.
Student Participation: Enzyme purification, enzyme
kinetics, bacterial & mammalian cell culture, spectroscopic
studies of purified enzymes.
Background Needed: Laboratory experience (ie freshman
chemistry lab) would be helpful.
Outside Majors: Chemistry, Biology, Pre-Medicine,
Pre-Dental.

Student generated projects may be considered.
