General Research Interest: T-cell leukemia & lymphoma, DNA methylation, development of the vertebrate adaptive immune system.

Student Participation: Wide open. A student could run their own project under my supervision, help out with existing projects in the lab or anything in between. Projects in my lab span the range from molecular biology (DNA & RNApreparation, PCR) to animal husbandry and genetics. We use zebrafish as an animal model for most of our studies.

Background Needed: None required; preference for students who aspire to doctorate level training in the sciences, medical/dental school; experience with molecular biology techniques a plus.

Outside Majors: Biology, chemistry biochemistry; any life science-related major considered.

Key Words: cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, T cel, immunity, zebrafish.

Student generated projects may be considered.

General Research Interest: I am an epidemiologist and nurse with an active federally-funded research program. Genetic testing for cancer susceptibility, cancer screening (behavioral issues), social ties and cancer risk, and utilization of preventive cancer services.

Student Participation: Grant proposal preparation (e.g. writing, literature reviews, etc.), data management, and data entry.

Background Needed: Excellent oral and written communication skills, mastery of English language.

Outside Majors: Sociology, Anthropology, Literature, Health and Social Policy, Psychology, and Health-Related Sciences.
