General Research Interest: Pain measurement and management; physiological and neurophysiological measurement; emotion; music therapy; meditation effects on neurophysiology and pain; and multimedia for education in medicine.

Student Participation: Laboratory setup (measurement), subject recruitment, training and conducting experiments in pain measurement and management, grant proposal support, and assist with new study design and implementation.

Background Needed: Studies in psychology, physiology, helpful to have some computer experience, experience in human subjects studies or clinical work.

General Research Interest: Pain Mechanisms: Characterization and Quantification of receptors and metabolites related to exercise, Fibromyalgia Syndrome and chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Student Participation: Assist in research, then train to perform RNA Extraction, reverse transcriptase, real-time PCR and Data Analysis with mouse, human, and rat models.

Background Needed: Basic biology and chemistry with lab experience
